How Long Should You Try?

Jim Rohn never fails to say so much with so few words. What will it take for you to achieve your goals, be it fitness, business, personal, etc.? It takes will power, clarity of vision, determination, steadfastness, the ability to pick yourself right back up and continue when you ‘fall back’ and finally, faith.
Faith is your unwavering belief that you will succeed, even when the goal seems far away, or you don’t have all the action steps in place. That doesn’t matter because when your faith is strong you just do it anyway.
Faith is like blindness. How can you ‘quantify’ faith? You can’t! There is no measure for faith – you have it or you don’t. The quality of your faith is how well and with what frequency you practice your new habits, how often you take one more step on the path towards your goal. Your faith is your own, and no one can challenge it except you.
Yes, this is metaphorical and ‘out there’ for some. So be it. When you are ready, you are ready. And when you are ready you make it happen.
How often do you hear self-defeating statements by people around you? “I can’t do it.” “That would be too hard.” “I won’t do that.” “I don’t have enough time.” Every single one of those statements is a horrible excuse. I say horrible because when we say these things, we defeat our selves – we defeat who we can become, who we are meant to be. We set up our own roadblocks without the help of anyone else. We all do it. We have all done it. The quality of your faith will determine how often you negate and halt progress on your goals versus how often you take action to achieve your desires.
This may sound like a rant, but it’s not. I can only speak about what I know. I seek to live and grow through my own experiences and am willing to communicate in a way that allows others to see, not necessarily my own experiences, but rather to see that I have ‘been there’ or that I can relate.
Change and growth are two different things. You can simply change, but the change could be for the worse or for improvement. When you grow – at least this is how I will define growth – you become something more than you were before. The seed becomes a flower. The child becomes an adult. These are visible changes we can observe. When we seek personal growth, we seek to improve. The more you improve, the easier it will be to achieve your goals, your destiny, and your desires.
Have faith and get passionate about what you want, and then start a plan to make it happen. It is yours to have, if you desire it.
